^These settings work for the following domains: embarqmail.com, centurytel.net, cswnet.com, clds.net, coastalnow.net, cochill.net, emadisonriver.com, emadisonriver.net, gallatinriver.net, grics.net, gulftel.com, madisonriver.biz, mebtel.net

1. Do the following:
  • 1. Select the "Mail" stamp icon
  • 2. Select "Mail"
  • 3. Select "Add Account"


2. Do the following:
  • 1. Select "Add Other Mail Account..."
  • 2. Select "Continue"


3. Do the following:
  • 1. Enter "Your Name"
  • 2. Enter "Your Email Address"
  • 3. Enter "Your Password"
  • 4. Select "Create"


4. You have completed the setup. If you see a screen that says "Account must be manually configured", you will need to manually configure the Mac Mail 10.9 email software.



Troubleshooting

1. If you are having trouble with your email after setting it up, try the following:
  • 1. Select "Mail"
  • 2. Select "Preferences"


2. Do the following:
  • 1. Select "Accounts"
  • 2. Select the email address you want to edit


3 Select the drop down next to "Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)".



4. Select "Edit Server List".



5. Do the following:
  • 1. Select the "Server Name"
  • 2. Select the "Advanced" tab


6. Do the following:
  • 1. Select "Use defaults ports (25, 465, 587)"
  • 2. Select "Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)"
  • 3. Select "OK"


7. Do the following:
  • 1. Select the "Advanced" tab
  • 2. Enter 995 for the port
  • 3. Select "Use SSL"
  • 4. Select the red circle in the upper left hand corner.


8. Select "Save".
