Setup Email in Thunderbird for centurytel.net, cswnet.com, clds.net, coastalnow.net, cochill.net, emadisonriver.com, emadisonriver.net, gallatinriver.net, grics.net, gulftel.com, madisonriver.biz, mebtel.net

1. Do the following:
  • 1. Select "File"
  • 2. Select "New"
  • 3. Select "Existing Mail Account"


2. Do the following:
  • 1. Enter "Your Name"
  • 2. Enter your "Email Address"
  • 3. Enter your "Password"
  • 4. Select "Continue"


3. Select "Manual config".



4. Enter the following for Incoming:
  • Select POP3
  • Server Hostname: pop.centurytel.net
  • Port: 995
  • SSL: ON


5. Enter the following for Outgoing SMTP:
  • Server Hostname: smtpauth.centurytel.net
  • Port: 587
  • SSL: Leave this blank


6. Do the following:
  • 1. For the Username, enter your Full Email Address*
  • 2. Select "Re-test"
* Gallatinriver.net email customers: Gallatinriver.net is an alias to grics.net. If your email address is joe@gallatinriver.net, you will use joe@grics.net for the "Username".



7. Select "Create Account".



8. CenturyLink recommends "leaving a copy of email(s) on the server." To do this:
  • Select "Tools". Select "Account Settings"
  • Select "Server Settings"
  • Under your email account check the box that says "Leave messages on server"
  • Select "OK"
