Setup Qwest.net Email on Thunderbird



1. Do the following:
  • 1. Select "File"
  • 2. Select "New"
  • 3. Select "Existing Mail Account"


2. Do the following:
  • 1. Enter "Your Name"
  • 2. Enter your "Email Address"
  • 3. Enter your "Password"
  • 4. Select "Continue"


3. Select "Manual config".



4. Enter the following for Incoming:
  • Select POP3
  • Server Hostname: pop.mpls.qwest.net
  • Port: 110
  • SSL: Leave this blank


5. Enter the following for Outgoing SMTP:
  • Server Hostname: pop.mpls.qwest.net
  • Port: 587
  • SSL: Leave this blank


6. Do the following:
  • 1. If your email address is customer@qwest.net, username would be customer. You can test your email address and password by signin into Webmail.
  • 2. Select "Re-test"


7. Select "Create Account".



8. CenturyLink recommends "leaving a copy of email(s) on the server." To do this:
  • Select "Tools". Select "Account Settings"
  • Select "Server Settings"
  • Under your email account check the box that says "Leave messages on server"
  • Select "OK"
