Setup qwestoffice.net Email on Windows Live Mail



If you are using Windows Live Mail, this page will show you how to set-up or edit settings for your email account.

Setup Email on Windows Live Mail

1. Select "Accounts".



2. Select "Email".



3. Do the following:
  • 1. Enter "Your Email Address"
  • 2. Enter "Your Password"


4. Do the following:
  • 1. Enter "Your Name"
  • 2. Select "Manually configure server settings"
  • 3. Select "Next"


5. Enter the following for 'Incoming server information':
  • 1. Server Type: POP
  • 2. Server address: pop.qwestoffice.net
  • 3. Port: 110
  • 4. Logon user name: Full Email Address


6. Enter the following for 'Outgoing server information':
  • 1. Server address: smtp.qwestoffice.net
  • 2. Check "Requires authentication"
  • 3. Port: 465
  • 4. Select 'Next'


7. Select "Finish".



8. CenturyLink recommends "leaving a copy of email(s) on the server." To do this:
  • Select "Tools". Select "Accounts"
  • Highlight the account you want to edit, then select "Properties"
  • Select the "Advanced" tab
  • Check the box that says "Leave a copy of messages on the server"
  • Select "OK"

Edit Email Settings on Windows Live Mail

1. To edit your email settings, right-click on your email account.



2. Select "Properties".



3. On the "General" tab verify "Your Email address".



4. On the "Servers" tab verify the:
  • Incoming mail (POP3): pop.qwestoffice.net
  • Outgoing mail (SMTP): smtp.qwestoffice.net
  • E-mail username: Full Email Address
  • Password: Re-enter Your Password
  • My server requires authentication: Checked Box


5. On the "Advanced" tab verify the:
  • Outgoing mail (SMTP): 465
  • This server requires a secure connection (SSL): Checked
  • Incoming mail (POP3): 110
  • This server requires a secure connection (SSL): Un-Checked
  • Select "OK" to save your changes. Close down your email client and open it back up.
