Static IP Block with VIP on an Actiontec Q1000



1. Open a web browser and go to http://192.168.0.1.



2. Select "Quick Setup"



3. Select "Advanced IP Configuration"



4. Select "PPPoE"



5. Enter your "PPP Username", "PPP Password" and "Confirm PPP Password".



6. Do the following:
  • Select "Block of Static IP Addresses"
  • Enter your "Gateway Address" and "Subnet Mask"
  • LAN DHCP Addressing: Private LAN Subnet (VIP on*)
*If you select Private LAN Subnet (VIP on) this will cause the modem to assign all devices on the network a LAN IP address (example 192.168.0.4) except for any device that has the TCP/IP settings manually configured for one of the user assignable IP address from your leased block. If you need the modem to hand out WAN IP Addresses, see Public LAN Subnet (non-VIP mode).



7. Do the following:
  • Select "Static DNS"
  • Primary DNS: 205.171.3.65
  • Secondary DNS: 205.171.2.65


8. Select "Apply"
