Norton Support Tools

These tools fix very specific problems that can occur when installing or using Norton products provided by CenturyLink. They may not work with Norton products that have been purchased from sources other than CenturyLink. It is highly recommended that CenturyLink Customers contact Technical support via the CenturyLink Chat page, and select Internet (Tech) Support.

Norton Bootable Recovery Tool

The Norton Bootable Recovery Tool works in Windows XP/Vista/7 with all versions of Norton products. This CD requires an active activation pin that can be obtained from CenturyLink Technical Support.

The Norton Bootable Recovery Tool creates a bootable CD with a Norton scanner that will scan and repair viruses. This CD can be used if you have problems installing your Norton product due to an existing virus or infection on your computer. This infection must be removed before you can install your Norton product. To use this tool:

  1. Go to the Norton Bootable Recovery Tool download page to view a list of products. Select your product and how you obtained it. Then follow the instructions given.
  2. Attempt to install your Norton product again.

Intelligent Updater Tool

The Intelligent Updater works in Windows XP/Vista/7 with all versions of Norton products. The Intelligent Updater engine is common to the Norton AntiVirus, Norton Internet Security, and Norton 360 products. You can update all of these products by going to the Intelligent Updater download page.

Norton Removal Tool

The Norton Removal Tool works with Windows XP/Vista/7. It can remove a failed or damaged installation of any Norton 2003-2010 or Norton 360 product from your computer. Before you continue, make sure that you have the installation CDs or downloaded installation files for the Norton product that you want to reinstall. Also, if you use ACT! or WinFAX; back up those databases and uninstall those products first.
