Modem Power Light
The table below details the different states of the power light.
State | Definition | |

Red During Boot-up | The power light will be red when the modem is powered on. While the power light is red the modem is performing a hardware test. If the modem hardware test fails the power light will stay red. Not all CenturyLink modems show a red power light during boot-up. | |
Amber During Boot-up | The power light will move from red to amber during boot-up after the hardware test passes. Amber indicates the modem is performing onboard software tests. If the power light stays amber the software test failed. Not all CenturyLink modems show the software test with an amber light during boot-up. | |
Blinking Green |
The power light will move from amber
to green indicating all self tests have passed and the
modem is booting up. |

Solid Green | The power light will turn solid green when the modem finishes boot-up. The modem is ready to establish an internet connection. | |
Blinking Amber | The power light will blink amber during a Local firmware upgrade. | |
Blinking Amber then Green | The power light will cycle thru amber, off, green, off when a remote upgrade is in progress. | |
Solid Amber with Reset Button | If the reset button is held in for 10 seconds or more the power light will turn amber indicating the modem will be set to factory default settings. |

Modem Internet Light
The table below details the different states of the Internet light.
State | Definition | |
---|---|---|
Off | The Internet light will be off if no PPP credentials are programmed in the modem or the modem is in transparent bridging mode. | |
Blinking Red then Green | The Internet light will cycle thru red, off, green, off when the modem is auto-detecting the network parameters. | |
Solid Amber | The Internet light will be solid amber if the the modem is programmed with the CenturyLink default PPP credentials. In this state you will not be able to surf the Internet. | |
Solid Red | The Internet light will be red if the PPP authentication with the ISP fails. A red internet light indicates the PPP credentials were inserted into the modem wrong. Re-type the PPP credentials in the Quick Setup tab. In DHCP mode, the red internet light indicates a valid WAN IP was not obtained. | |
Solid Green | The Internet light will be green when the modem established an Internet connection with the ISP. | |
Blinking Green | The Internet light will blink green after establishing a connection with the ISP indicating traffic on the Internet. |
Modem Ethernet Light(s)
The table below details the different states of the Ethernet light(s).

Off | The Ethernet light(s) will be off when no devices is connected to the Ethernet port. | |
Solid Green | The Ethernet light(s) will be solid green when connected to a LAN device with an Ethernet cable. | |
Blinking Green | The Ethernet light(s) will blink green indicating traffic on the Ethernet port. |
Modem Wireless Light
The table below details the different states of the Wireless light.

Off | The Wireless light will be off when the wireless radio in the modem is disabled. | |
Solid Amber | The Wireless light will be solid amber if the the wireless radio is disabled via the wireless access scheduler feature. | |
Solid Green | The Wireless light will be solid green when the wireless radio is on in the modem. | |
Blinking Green | The Wireless light will blink green indicating traffic via wireless thru the modem. |
WPS Button Light
The table below details the different states of the WPS button light. Not all CenturyLink modems support WPS with a button at this time. Your modem may not have a WPS button and light.

Off | The WPS button will be off when WPS is disabled | |
Solid Green | The WPS button will be illuminated when WPS is enabled. | |
Blinking Amber | WPS button will blink amber when a connection request is in process. | |
Solid Green | The WPS button will be green when a connection is established. | |
Blinking Red | The WPS button will blink red when a connection errors out or a session overlap is detected. | |
LED Support | Not all CenturyLink modems support WPS in the manor defined above at this time. Your WPS button lights may function differently. |
